Introduction

We think in so many ways.

Yet school teaches only one way: in Binary Logic, a thought is only a yes-or-no statement.

Even school itself acts like one big “yes or no” between each of us and our goals — the path is already made for us.

But the truth is: there are many paths, and we each make our own.

Binary logic is just one of many ways of thinking. Sure, some things are just true or false. But life is not so simple! Even kids can tell that “logic”, as it is currently taught, does not fully express the richness and complexity of the world.

But it’s okay — school just hasn’t yet heard the good news: in the last two centuries, we have developed more and more expressive language, to understand and connect the many structures by which sciences model all kinds of complexity in the world.

As the language became more general, it actually became more simple: turns out, we can tell that sciences are using the same language just by looking at their whiteboards: it’s all dots and arrows!
